Let's look at what facilitation helps to have:

It is important to emphasize that while different tools & techniques need to be known & mastered, even more important is the self-mastery skill. Which is a leadership skill at its core - how do you master yourself when with a group of people?
For me facilitation or group process leadership is the catalysis of a group's dynamics so that it is inclusive, trustworthy, safe and positive thus leveraging the group's maximum potential in the real time context.
